After our successful collaboration with Danny, he returned with a new assignment. This time, the specs, requirements, and budget were different. We wasted no time before we set about our task. The intended property was selected, and even though Danny found it very difficult to see the potential under its many layers of bright colours, we could already see it the day after the renovations.
This was an old flat that was replete with awkward, faint purple colours. The final goal was a modern flat combining hotel-like elements and features, or to use Danny’s words: “I want a home that feels like a hotel.” That meant wall decorations, concealed lighting fixtures in the bathroom, etc. To realize the flat’s potential and allow for spatial flow, we decided to tear down a few walls and create an “open space.” This was the right call, and it completely transformed the flat’s “energy.” We painted the walls, completed the repairs, and turned the flat into a “blank slate” that was ready to be furnished.
As the photos show, we managed to carefully maintain a clean design. We used a contrast between cream colours and dark blue, with added touches of turquoise and greenish colours. The combination of open spaces with differently designed and fully furnished corners was fully tailored to Danieli’s needs and our vision.
